Nashville Family Photographers | Family Sessions and Fall Events in Nashville 2019
It’s almost that time of the year - the best time of year in my opinion! Not only does fall provide the most ideal weather for family photo sessions, it is also a season that is jam-packed with an abundance of fun, family-friendly events . Beyond that, I just adore pulling out my comfy jeans and plaids from storage, watching campy horror movies the whole month of October, and having an excuse to eat all the varieties of candy corn. Best of all, is that we get to spend our weekends checking out a few of the many intriguing events offered in Nashville during the fall.
My family’s favorite fall events from last year were the Hermitage Fall Fest and the pumpkin patch located at the 12 South Farmers Market. This year, we are interested in touring the Bell Witch Cave and Farm, Oktoberfest in Germantown and possibly stopping by one of the many haunted houses in the area - tho we may need to leave the kiddo at home for those! Trick or Treating with our little guy in our Hermitage neighborhood is always at the top of the list. He has already been practicing around the house with his pumpkin bucket for the last few months.
As I mentioned before, fall is a very busy time for photo sessions of all kinds! Family and senior portraits are especially popular during this cooler time of the year. Scheduling your family session for the fall is also a great way to snag a cute family photo for your future Christmas or Holiday card!
Nashville and it’s surrounding areas are full of ideal locations for fall photos. A few of my go-to rural locations with lots of trees are the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nolensville, Franklin’s Harlinsdale Farm or Edwin Warner Park in Bellevue. Several fantastic urban locations I use for fall sessions are Cumberland Park - which offers a pretty view of the Nashville Skyline - 12 South, and the Five Points area in East Nashville.
Being that fall is an extremely popular season for portraits of all kinds, it’s best to start planning your fall session ahead of time. It is never a bad idea to book your ideal session date a few months ahead. Fall technically starts on September 23rd through December 21st, however, the peak times to capture the most colorful fall leaves in Nashville will take place around late October through early November. If you are anything like me, fall marks the beginning of my favorite time of the year and also, my busiest time of the year. It is a time of joyful anticipation for all the fun family events and holidays to come. Maybe it’s just me, but I love getting a jumpstart on the planning so that I can extend my family’s enjoyment of this lovely time of year for as long as possible!
